PBS TV & THE WRITTEN WORD:

The Written Word:
From time to time I post sideline articles that will have no relationship to Strategic Resources. They will be about a movie I'd just seen or something I've come across I think others will enjoy. If they weren't interesting or educational in nature I wouldn't post them. I like to reflect and learn from other people's experiences in life. When you think about it, that's really what makes up our live's. Lot's of little experiences all strung together. Some of them good and other's not so good. Ocassionally, I pick one of the better articles I come across and share them with you. Hopefully, we can relate to some of these stories to make our own lives better and more meaningful.

I like reading short stories because we all seem to be short on time. I figure, by expanding our base of knowledge outside of what shapes our immediate world we can expand our minds beyond our own day to day events. Even though this is important I believe its even more important to keep expanding, stretching and growing. Otherwise, we run the risk of getting in a rut, being bored or eventually become self absorbed not being aware of what's outside our immediate world. To keep me and you on our toes, sometimes, I may post stories that have a hidden meaning, a pearl of wisdom so to speak and let the story stand on it's own good merit.

This is another reason I post these types of articles, to keep growing and expanding. Since my mind is always active anyway, I figure I might as well give it something good to think about. I challenge you, if you think your mind's not active, try sitting down on the couch for 10 minutes and think about nothing. It can't be done. The mind is always active. If you figure out a way to empty the mind of thoughts, please let me know.

TV:
Every week I watch old English Movies on Public Broadcast Service. PBS was founded in 1969. The movies are based on people's life experience's and made for our entertainment and enjoyment. They are usually very good and educational in nature. I've been watching them for years. This is PBS's version of the written word translated into the spoken word. It's designed for those who don't have time to read. And I'm sure glad they did!!!

The Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) is a non-profit public broadcasting television service with 354 member TV stations in the United States:
