jking: I spent alot of time on that issue even emailing engineers directly involved with FIPS-140 and the certification agency and it was emphatic it was necessary, and in fact, was the requirement for sensitive yet unclassified data. NSA deals with certifying for classified encryption devices. Be that as it may, my requests to the company to resolve the issue were ignored.
