I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I agree with Neuro.
Now please don't anyone misconstrue this to mean that I support terrorism of any kind. Honestly, folks WE ALL DAMN WELL KNOW that nobody on this board supports terrorism.
The Israelies and Palestinians have a very complicated situation, and it is far too easy to call it a cut and dry situation declaring one side completely right and the other completely wrong. They've both engaged in warfare, and there are plenty of atrocities on both sides to go around. Further, their clinging to the past of "you did this...but you did that" will only serve to mire them for eternity.
Neuro is very right about guarding against speaking of Arabs as if they were all one people of one nation acting single-mindedly. There's every reason to guard against such thinking in the wake of these astounding and dispicable acts. It wasn't so long ago that our once horrified country deemed in necessary to intern all Japanese-American citizens because of the actions of Japan.
Oh, Spall, a little aside here, I'll be very interested in the kind of technology that seeks out wayward American planes full of American civilians and shoots them out of the sky. We can call it the Strategically Ill-Conceived or SIC for short.
