A "new" core in 2008? What about AMD's "new" core in 2007?

Unless this is some sort of funny wit that says Barcelona will be in 2008, I don't really see it likely that AMD would have two "new" cores within a 2 year period (unless the 2008 "new" core is pretty much Barcelona with a few additional tweaks).

6 core and 8 core designs, why not? If AMD staffs the engineering teams and is willing to build die that size, then anything's possible. But from a power and efficiency standpoint, it won't be a big candidate for high volumes.

We'll see if AMD can back up any of Charlie's wishful thinkings at their next analyst's conference. There was mention recently that they may start talking about their next round of designs.
