Though such a pump might work in theory there is no way to achieve the steep angles required to make it do so. The ones they tested had interlocked rings (make a circle with your thumb and pointer, finger tips touching, interlock the two rings bend one arm and rotate the bent arm portion). The system is to slack it creates vibration and incinerates itself. They would actually need a high angle CV joint to make it really work. Again torvec has a solution. But I am quite sure that nothing ever happened.
