I don't agree that the raid on ERHC's offices was about Jefferson. If anything, Jefferson was a by-product. The DOJ investigation, imo, was the result of some of the big boys being po'ed that they did not fare better in the awarding of licenses. In particular, it is my opinion, and I believe it was reported in the Nigerian press, that Anadarko is at the root of the investigation. Luckily, and rightfully so, STP and the Nigerians stopped it in its tracks in their own countries. Nigeria refused to cooperate and Menenzes canned the biased AG who made the request to the DOJ/SEC.
