HailMary, you don't want to transfer an account. I am in the process of doing that right now Ameritrade-->BrownCo. The issue is that you will lose access to trading your securities for 7-10 days. I am in that situation right now. Ameritrade has frozen the account pending the transfer, and BrownCo won't recognize the securities until they have possession of them.

It's a bitch. Luckly I sold my options a day before they started the transfer process.
