Another question that Centrino laptop owners ask is if I only have a 1.5 Mbs internet connection why do I need more than my current 11 Mbs wireless connection?

However, they do know this: When an Athlon-M owner wirelessly connects to a Centrino to transfer a DVD movie from one hard disk to the other, it takes 5x longer than it should! Let's see... a typical movie will be around 6GB, at 11Mb/S, counting 10 bits to a byte (incl. protocol overhead), that would take 6144/(11/10) = 5585 seconds, a little more than an hour & a half to the Centrino.

Between two Athlon-M systems, that would be 6144/(55/10) = 1117 seconds, less than 19 minutes.

OK - 1.5 hrs vs. 19 minutes, which is faster?
