This may help. It is a repost from another board. VFIN is on the ask and I was watching what sure looked to be a sizable dump of shares at the bid. This looks to me like dilution. JMHO

Ran across this post... interesting breakdown of the MM's...

To expand on that thought:

Strictly IMO, generally the worst MMs are CLYP, VFIN and VERT, in that order. DOMS, HILL and HDSN are known to dump as well, but I don't find them too bad, they generally handle small inventories such as dumping for company insiders rather than diluting for the company itself. I've heard that HDSN is also used by Prodigytrading.net so they do handle some retail as well. I'm not with Prdigy so I can't confirm. NITE shorts the hell out of stocks but otherwise is neutral. STGI and BMCI are often used by overseas retail shorters. VIEW plays both sides working with a hedge fund. LAMP and MICA are a couple new kids on the block that are in the CLYP mode. When they are on the bid it means they're fattening up traders for the upcoming slaughter by first letting the stock run a little. Be extremely careful. SBSH, UBSS, ETRD are generally retail representing the big boy brokerages, i.e., Ameritrade, Schawb, etc.
