I took my own oyster knife and gloves to the event.

I didn't need my knife but the gloves they had were sissy.

I could hold a roasted oyster in my glove on my left hand and not feel the heat.

I put a cotton work glove on and then put a rubber glove over it.

Works great.

The rubber glove keeps the cotton glove dry and the cotton glove helps to insulate me from the heat.

If you want some, I'll order a bushel and you can come up and help me devour them.
