id like to argue on this a bit. i guess the wicks and tails tell a different story depending on the larger trend of the stock.
for instance in a downtrend, i often see a red candle with a long tail before the reverse to an uptrend, this usually means that retail buying had brought the candle back up and it didnt close on LOD.
and same in an uptrend, for instance a shooting star has a large upper shadow, showing selling pressure pushing the body down.
