I think the point is that usually a certain % of the float will trade on a regular basis. I don't know what is average.
I agree that much can be from trading. I have bought and sold say 5 million shares on a stock before in a day but really was turning over the same million shares flipping it.
But I think the point is that this volume is high for the greys especially and that the % of the float trading on a daily basis is high. That would mean either dilution or shorts covering(buying back shares that were sold at a much higher price) or that the float is higher than we were told, or a lot of trading.
In any case the volume is high for a grey sheet stock.
