Just had a very weird electrical event. Lots of lightening outside: one hit just across the street -- less than 30 yards from where I sit. I have a desk lamp with a halogen bulb. When the lightening hit, the bulb flicked momentarily -- as though it was burning out.
I assumed it burned out, until I flicked the switch and realized that it was turned off, not on. Even with the switch off, the bulb lit momentarily when the lightening hit. The lamp is sitting next to the computer and it was not affected -- at all, directly or indirectly. Both the lamp and the puter are plugged into the same surge suppressor and it's fuse did not pop.
