DEAD?? For your information.......
Most of us don't realize that legal death is a statement of prognosis more than a statement of condition. The state of one declared legally dead can be highly variable.
Because of this complexity, it cannot be dismissed solely based on a legal pronouncement of death.
For those with DNR ("Do Not Resuscitate") orders on their chart, legal death is determined when a qualified authority pronounces death based on a combination of factors....
Absence of vital functions are not enough. Evidence of irreversibility is also required. Absolute death is all to often confused with the state of vegetation, which can change at a moment's notice.
