2D Photonics CEO discusses plans to scale up advanced graphene-based photonics technology

Frontier IP Group CEO on H1 highlights, €25m 2D Photonics funding round

St George Mining unveils major JORC resource

St George Mining Ltd executive chairman John Prineas talked with Proactive about the company's newly announced maiden JORC resource, which he says could be among the world’s most significant niobium and rare earth deposits. Prineas said the deposit features over 500 intercepts of high-grade mineralisation and boasts a rare combination of high grades and shallow mineralisation starting at surface, supporting an open pit development. “We think, possibly the second highest niobium deposit in terms of grade and, probably one of the highest rare earth deposits,” he told Proactive. He confirmed the company has already seen interest from industry players, with some expressing interest in potential partnerships and even mergers. The resource was released following St George’s acquisition of the project in late February, and the company has committed to a drill program starting in the coming weeks. According to Prineas, this program could potentially double the existing resource. In Brazil, St George has assembled an experienced in-country team and engaged a global EPC contractor to progress mine development. Tolu Minerals CEO reveals 8 new targets at Mt Pence and talks initial gold production at Tolukuma

Tolu Minerals Ltd CEO Iain Macpherson talked with Proactive about the company’s initial gold production at the Tolukuma Gold Mine in Papua New Guinea. While not commercial output yet, Macpherson explained that gold from commissioning demonstrates proof of concept and marks the start of larger-scale activity. The company is leveraging existing infrastructure valued at around AU$500 million, with a strategy focused on addressing previous cost pressures that led to mine closure. “The mine shut down, not because the resource ran out... but because they were faced with severe cost pressures,” Macpherson said, citing diesel dependence and lack of road access. Macpherson highlighted Tolu’s capital program and extensive exploration footprint across the broader Tolukuma structure. He detailed the utility of airborne magnetotelluric (MT) surveys, which provide deep, three-dimensional geophysical data. “It gives you a very good three-dimensional picture... and enhances target generation,” he said, noting this method’s success in similar geologies globally. The company also discussed its Mt Penck project on New Britain Island, revealing the identification of eight new porphyry targets based on the MT survey.
