High-grade gold boost for Strickland Metals

Strickland Metals Ltd managing director Paul L’Herpiniere talked with Proactive about a significant upgrade to the company’s resource at its Rogozna project in Serbia. The latest resource update follows 20,000 metres of drilling in 2023, which delivered an increase of two million ounces gold equivalent. “I can't think of many projects on the planet that you can get this sort of growth for $3 an ounce,” L’Herpiniere said. He highlighted the success of targeted drilling at the Shanac deposit, where only 10 holes were drilled, resulting in a strong uplift in contained metals – including a 17% increase in gold and 38% in copper. Importantly, the drilling delineated high-grade mineralisation zones, which L’Herpiniere said will be the focus of upcoming mining studies. Strickland has now commenced a 50,000 metre drill program, with 30,000 metres allocated to resource drilling at Shanac and Gradina. Gradina, described as the most gold-rich of the four deposits, is expected to deliver a maiden resource later in 2025. The remaining 20,000 metres will target major exploration prospects, including Jezerska Reka and Obradov Potok. With approximately A$30 million in cash and strong geological potential, L’Herpiniere said the company is well positioned for further growth. Immunic CMO discusses significance of MS Awareness Month; progress with treatment

Immunic Inc (NASDAQ:IMUX) chief medical officer Dr Andreas Muehler talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the company’s work in multiple sclerosis (MS) as MS Awareness Month concludes. Muehler discussed the importance of continued research funding and the community’s role in advancing treatment. He highlighted the company’s lead asset, vidofludimus calcium, which is in advanced-stage clinical trials. Results from the phase 2 EMPHASIS trial in relapsing-remitting MS showed a reduction of about three-quarters of new MRI lesions compared to placebo. Muehler said, “This is a very good value,” and pointed to biomarker data showing a strong, dose-linear suppression of neurofilament — a sign of nerve cell damage. A phase 3 program involving more than 2,000 patients is now underway, with data expected in 2026. In progressive MS, Immunic is close to reporting data from its phase 2 CALLIPER trial, having already seen positive biomarker signals at 24 weeks. Muehler addressed patients’ fears of disability, stressing the company’s commitment to tackling "progression independent of relapse activity (PIRA)", a key unmet need. He emphasized vidofludimus calcium’s dual mechanism — both anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective — and its potential to become the first oral drug targeting the full spectrum of MS. How Beforepay’s AI model drives strong returns

Beforepay Group Ltd Finance Manager Shreya Prakash talked with Proactive about the company’s dual focus on domestic consumer lending and enterprise software through its Carrington Labs division. She explained that Beforepay’s core product—a pay advance offering—provides short-term loans with a fixed 5% fee and no hidden costs, aiming to support Australians with transparent and ethical lending. Prakash said, “The most common reason people borrow from us is not because they want to go for a vacation... but to tide them over that short-term cash flow pinch.” She highlighted that this flagship product, launched in 2020, remains central to the business and differentiates itself through its ethical model and efficient cost structure. Carrington Labs, the company’s AI and analytics arm, is productising the risk models that power Beforepay and expanding operations in the US. Prakash noted that the company is writing around 40,000 loans with just 50 staff, underlining a strong operational efficiency. Billy Cheung, also from the finance team, added that Beforepay became profitable in the first half of FY23. He reported revenue approaching A$20 million and net profit of A$2.8 million in H1 FY25. Notably, the company reduced net defaults from around 3% to just 1.1%, attributing this to improved credit risk models. ACG Metals CFO says hold hedge strategy is already paying off

ACG Metals Ltd chief financial officer Patrick Henze talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the company’s recently announced gold hedging strategy and its importance during ACG’s transition phase from precious to base metals. Henze explained that while ACG Metals is ultimately targeting copper production from its Gediktepe mine in Turkey by 2026, the mine currently generates strong cash flow from gold and silver. The company has moved to hedge 50% of its gold production at US$2,875 per ounce through January 2026, helping secure revenue in a volatile pricing environment. He noted: “We are currently producing gold and silver, which is a perfect transition for us to become a copper producer in ’26… we can benefit and protect a bit the cash flows by hedging the gold.” The hedge program, executed with Alpha, involves no cash outlay and allows ACG to retain upside exposure above US$3,065 per ounce on the hedged portion. Henze emphasised this strategy helps ACG provide more certainty to bondholders and equity investors by de-risking key financial metrics for 2025.
