Cuscal FY25 update: profit grows on stable volumes

Cuscal Limited Managing Director Craig Kennedy talked with Proactive at AIM's Small and MIdcap conference about the company’s role in Australia's financial infrastructure and its recent financial performance for the first half of FY25. Kennedy explained that Cuscal is one of only five organisations in Australia with the full suite of licensing, infrastructure, and capabilities required to offer end-to-end payment services—alongside the four major banks. The company serves a range of clients including other banks, corporates, and fintechs, as well as working with NAB’s UBank division. Kennedy emphasised Cuscal’s position as a “neutral, independent” access point to payment infrastructure. On financial performance, Kennedy said Cuscal expects to “modestly exceed the forecast in the prospectus” issued at the time of its IPO in November. He noted that the business enjoys stable, predictable revenue and has completed significant investment in areas like real-time payments and operational upgrades. As a result, the company is beginning to see operational leverage. Kennedy stated: “Mid to high single digit volume growth will translate to low double digit profit growth.” He said H1 FY25 results showed 7% volume growth and between 12% to 13% profit growth. Reflecting on sector innovation, Kennedy described Cuscal as an "airport" enabling new players—like fintechs—to create and deliver new customer experiences on top of a stable infrastructure. COSOL Sees U.S. market as key growth driver

COSOL Limited Managing Director Scott McGowan talked with Proactive at AIM's Small and Midcap Conference about the company’s role in driving operational efficiency across asset-intensive industries. COSOL Limited works with organisations in mining, oil and gas, utilities, and public infrastructure to enhance the performance of their physical assets. McGowan explained the company’s core service as unlocking value by helping clients reduce costs through better asset management. “We look at ways that we can save them real dollars to be able to manage that asset more effectively,” he said. The company’s client list includes major names such as Glencore, Rio Tinto, BHP, and several government departments. COSOL provides the systems and processes behind the scenes to manage these organisations’ equipment and facilities, potentially impacting hundreds of millions in operational costs. Even a 2–3% improvement, McGowan said, “makes a significant difference to their bottom line.” COSOL has grown revenue from AUD 30 million to over AUD 110 million since listing. It is now targeting organic growth in the mid-teens and exploring earnings-accretive acquisitions. MP Evans posts record 2024 results, eyes growth

MP Evans Group PLC (AIM:MPE) CEO Matthew Coulson takes Proactive's Stephen Gunnion through the company’s record results for 2024 and the strong start to 2025. MP Evans Group reported a robust financial performance in 2024, with Coulson confirming a record profit and a 66% increase in earnings per share. “It’s been a fantastic year for the group,” Coulson said, noting that high pricing supported the result, with prices averaging around $820 per tonne for the year. The company processed 1.6 million tonnes of crop in 2024, maintaining output despite weather-related challenges in Indonesia. Coulson highlighted this achievement in context: while Indonesia saw a slight national decline in crop yield, MP Evans sustained high volumes, reflecting operational resilience. Planting activity also continued across its operations, particularly in South Sumatra and East Kalimantan. The company expects to exceed 11,000 hectares planted at its Musi Rawas estate in early 2025, while its ABK site in East Kalimantan is set for more extensive development this year. Coulson also noted a milestone in sustainability, with over 250,000 tonnes of certified sustainable output processed across the company’s six mills in 2024. Actinogen targets $20B Alzheimer’s market with Xanamem

Actinogen Medical Ltd Managing Director and CEO Dr Stephen Gourlay talked with Proactive at the AIM's Small and Midcap conference about the company’s lead asset, Xanamem, and its development in Alzheimer’s disease and depression. Dr Gourlay explained that Xanamem is an oral, once-a-day drug designed to modulate cortisol levels in the brain without interfering with the body’s essential stress response. “We’ve also shown some positive data, you know, phase two and depression as well, which is very exciting because that validates its mechanism,” he said. He outlined the commercial opportunity in both Alzheimer’s and depression. While depression is more prevalent, the Alzheimer's market offers larger potential revenue. He noted that current treatments either have side effects or provide only temporary cognitive improvement, whereas Xanamem could modify the disease course with a better safety profile. Dr Gourlay discussed Actinogen’s recent momentum, including positive results in a depression trial, a number of peer-reviewed publications, and the upcoming interim analysis from its Alzheimer’s trial in Australia and the US.
