AuKing prepares for gold mining at Mt Freda site

AuKing Mining Ltd managing director Paul Williams talked with Proactive about the company's latest update on its Cloncurry Project in Queensland, focusing on the Mt Freda deposit. Williams confirmed that with Orion Resources nearing acquisition completion, AuKing is preparing to restart mining operations at the historical Mt Freda gold mine. Williams highlighted Mt Freda as a top target for redevelopment due to its existing mining lease and approvals, as well as a current resource estimate of around 100,000oz. "We really don't want to start a mining operation unless we've got reserves in the resource estimate," he explained, outlining the company’s aim to confirm and expand those figures through an upcoming drilling program. In addition to resource verification, AuKing is evaluating two processing options: existing vat leaching pits and a nearby cavern in-leach circuit at Lorena. Williams also noted the broader potential in the surrounding six square kilometre Mt Freda Complex, which contains multiple historical deposits, hinting at further exploration upside. Drilling is expected to start within weeks of the acquisition's financial close in April, with results anticipated in the months following. Southern Cross Gold reveals Sunday Creek scale

Southern Cross Gold Consolidated CEO Michael Hudson talked with Proactive at the AIM's Small and Midcap Conference about the company’s focus on gold and antimony exploration in Victoria, Australia, particularly at the Sundae Creek project. Hudson outlined the scale and significance of the discovery, describing it as “one of the most exciting gold discoveries globally… a rare tier one multi-million ounce high grade discovery.” The company is advancing exploration rapidly, with six drill rigs currently operating and plans to expand to eight. Hudson said the company has completed around 70km of drilling and estimates an exploration target of 2.2 to 3.2 million ounces gold equivalent, grading between 8.5 to 10.6 grams per tonne – all within just 5% of the identified trend. Antimony also plays a key role. Hudson explained that China and Russia dominate the global market and recent export bans have highlighted supply vulnerabilities: “You don't have a defense industry without it. And the Western world really doesn't have it. Sintana Energy advances Orange Basin portfolio with key exploration updates

Sintana Energy CEO Robert Bose recently spoke with Steve Darling from Proactive to provide a comprehensive update on the company’s Orange Basin assets, highlighting significant progress across PEL 83, PEL 90, PEL 87, and PEL 82. Bose sahred positive results from the Mopane 3-X well on PEL 83, operated by Galp. The well, which targeted new AVO anomalies 10 and 13, delivered better-than-expected results across nearly every parameter, confirming the presence of high-quality oil and condensate. This discovery has the potential to establish a new development hub, positioning PEL 83 as a key asset in the basin. Moving forward, activity will focus on evaluating partnership opportunities, with Galp expected to seek new partners in the coming quarters. The first Chevron-operated well on PEL 90 did not encounter commercial hydrocarbons but was still regarded as a technical success. Bose emphasized the company’s confidence in the exploration potential of the block, noting that the joint venture partners plan to return for further drilling later this year. Bose also provided an update on PEL 87’s Saturn Superfan prospect, where Woodside Energy chose not to proceed after completing a 3D seismic survey. Despite this, Sintana remains highly optimistic and is now in discussions with alternative supermajor partners. “We’re very excited about opening up the doors to larger, potential partners,” Bose stated, highlighting the continued confidence in the asset’s potential. Chevron has officially completed its farm-in at PEL 82, located in the Walvis Basin, paving the way for drilling operations next year. Bose also pointed to the growing political support for oil and gas development in Namibia, with upstream regulatory oversight now moved directly under the President’s office—a move he called “a huge step forward” for the industry. Actinogen targets $20B Alzheimer’s market with Xanamem

Actinogen Medical Ltd Managing Director and CEO Dr Stephen Gourlay talked with Proactive at the AIM's Small and Midcap conference about the company’s lead asset, Xanamem, and its development in Alzheimer’s disease and depression. Dr Gourlay explained that Xanamem is an oral, once-a-day drug designed to modulate cortisol levels in the brain without interfering with the body’s essential stress response. “We’ve also shown some positive data, you know, phase two and depression as well, which is very exciting because that validates its mechanism,” he said. He outlined the commercial opportunity in both Alzheimer’s and depression. While depression is more prevalent, the Alzheimer's market offers larger potential revenue. He noted that current treatments either have side effects or provide only temporary cognitive improvement, whereas Xanamem could modify the disease course with a better safety profile. Dr Gourlay discussed Actinogen’s recent momentum, including positive results in a depression trial, a number of peer-reviewed publications, and the upcoming interim analysis from its Alzheimer’s trial in Australia and the US.
