The upside *is* being completely sold out, versus the previously assumed state of not being completely sold out.

Of course but where does AMD go from here? Without expansion they are leaving money on the table and handing over market share to Intel who IS expanding. Without expansion customers will design in Intel because AMD has no upside capacity. What looks good now is bad news for tomorrow.
