FSC / Press Release

More High-grade Zinc-Lead Mineralization Identified at Anniv Central

Vancouver, British Columbia CANADA, March 02, 2007 /FSC/ - Pacifica Resources Ltd. (PAX - TSX Venture), is pleased to provide an update on drill hole results in the Anniv Central area. Drilling in 2006 has expanded the mineralized zone and intersected higher grade mineralization at depth.

The Selwyn Project hosts the world-class Howard's Pass SEDEX zinc-lead deposits. Location of the new zones and detailed drill plan maps are available at www.pacifica-resources.com.

Anniv Central -Deep Drill Holes

Higher grade mineralization at depth in the Anniv Central deposit was first described in the November 28, 2006 news release; which detailed drill holes ANC-153 and ANC-162; both of which intersected high grade, zinc-lead mineralization in the Active Member. A total of six drill holes have now tested the zone at depth in 2006 including ANC-143, ANC-172, ANC-177 and ANC-181 reported herein; all of which intersected narrow zones of higher grade zinc-lead mineralization. The deeper drilling continues to reveal that the Anniv Central deposit continues to depth with significant higher grade mineral potential below the range of the open-pit target. The higher-grade underground target has now been traced over a strike length of 850 metres and remains open to expansion in all directions.

The deeper mineralization in the Anniv Central zone can be easily accessed with near horizontal access from adjacent Anniv East deposit area. Anniv Central is one of four locations now known to occur within the Selwyn Project area where there is potential for a high-grade underground target. The other areas of known high grade mineralization are the previously defined underground Inferred mineral resource at the XY Central deposit (see November 24, 2006 new release), the HC West Zone (see October 25, 2006 news release), and the DON Zone (see December 11, 2006 news release). These higher grade underground mineral targets are an important opportunity for the Selwyn Project that will be further examined in 2007.

Anniv Central Open-Pit

Fifty-three drill holes were completed in the Anniv Central zone in 2006. Previous drilling defined a near surface open-pit NI 43-101 compliant Indicated mineral resource of 12,590,000 tonnes grading 4.46% zinc and 1.66% lead, and a NI 43-101 compliant Inferred mineral resource of 20,970,000 tonnes grading 5.38% zinc and 1.79% lead (see www.sedar.com). Drill results for AN-112, AN-115, AN-119, AN-126, AN-135, and AN-151 include intervals of higher grade mineralization because the overall grade of these intercepts are for the most part that are higher grade than the average grade of the deposit. The Anniv Central open-pit deposit has now been traced over an area of 4600 metres by 400 metres and to a depth extent of 200 metres below surface. The mineralization remains open along strike and down dip below the depth of the open-pit target.

Anniv West Target
The Anniv West open-pit target was successfully tested by eight drill holes in 2006 and reinforced that the zinc-lead mineralized Active Member of this open-pit target is a contiguous extension of the Anniv Central deposit two kilometres to the northwest. This area to the northwest is outside of the 2006 NI 43-101 limits of the Anniv Central deposit Inferred mineral resource outline. Although the well mineralized sections of the Active Member in Anniv West appear thin, the mineral potential remains significant given its proximity to known open-pit Indicated and Inferred mineral resources of the Anniv Central deposit. Of particular interest is the narrow high grade interval in ANC 152 that hosts 10.4% Pb and 16.55% Zn over 1.88 metres true thickness that is characteristic of the higher grade zones observed in the other deposits.

Continuing Exploration

With the receipt of almost all drill hole data, Pacifica is advancing re-estimation of resources incorporating the results of the more than 190 new drill holes. Shortly, Pacifica will announce details and the commencement of its major 2007 drilling program and its continuing environmental and engineering studies.

The Selwyn Project exploration program is overviewed by Vice President Exploration, Mr. Jason Dunning, M.Sc., P.Geo. The onsite activities for the Selwyn Project are directed by Exploration Manager, John J. O'Donnell, P.Geo. Both Mr. Dunning and Mr. O'Donnell are Qualified Persons within the meaning of National Instrument 43-101. All assay data has been through internal validation of quality assurance and quality control. Pacifica has established a sampling and assay control program with blind insertion of assay blanks, standards and duplicates for the Selwyn Project; however, it should be noted that there is also a quality control and quality assurance program in place at both ACME Analytical Laboratories Ltd. ("ACME") and ALS Chemex that includes blanks, duplicates and standards. At ACME, silver and base metal analyses are conducted by a 17-element, four-acid digestion, ore-grade ICP-AES technique. At ALS Chemex, silver and base metal analyses are conducted by a 25-element, four-acid digestion, ICP-AES technique with overlimit protocols for zinc, lead, copper, antimony, arsenic, and barium conducted by an ore-grade aqua-regia digestion with an instrument finish (ALS-Chemex).

Pacifica's main focus is the exploration of its Selwyn Project in eastern Yukon and Northwest Territories. The Selwyn Project hosts very large tonnages of zinc-lead mineralization. The Selwyn Project is one of the few large projects with the potential to provide a long term secure supply of zinc to meet the growing global need for this basic industrial metal.

This press release may contain forward-looking statements based on assumptions and judgments of management regarding future events or results that may prove to be inaccurate as a result of exploration and other risk factors beyond its control and actual results may differ materially from the expected results. Additional drilling is required to confirm the potential of the new discovery areas and expansions of the current resource areas. Furthermore, there is no assurance that the resources being defined can be developed as an economically attractive mine, and there are many uncertainties associated with permitting and other factors that could delay such development.
