Quantum Base to list on AIM with £5M IPO plan

Quantum Base CEO Tom Taylor joined Stephen Gunnion in the Proactive studio with more about the company’s upcoming listing on the AIM market and its breakthrough anti-counterfeiting technology. Quantum Base, founded in 2013 as a spin-out from Lancaster University, has developed an atomic fingerprint that offers 100% secure authentication of goods, scannable with any smartphone. “It tells you 100% if something is real or it's fake,” Taylor said, describing the technology as a major leap in the fight against counterfeiting. Taylor explained that the technology has applications across sectors including brand protection, pharmaceuticals, tax stamps, banknotes, passports and even aerospace parts. The firm is already working with clients globally—from North America to the Middle East—and targeting both commercial brands and government organisations. The IPO is expected to raise £5 million, with £4.70 million already committed and trading set to begin on Friday under the ticker QUBE. The retail offer remains open. “We really want to grow… AIM really helps us grow,” Taylor said, noting the listing will support product development and expansion into new verticals. Tamboran Resources boosts NT gas supply with Arafura deal

Tamboran Resources Ltd CEO Joel Riddle talked with Proactive about the company's newly signed letter of intent (LOI) with Arafura Resources Ltd to supply gas from the Beetaloo Basin. Riddle explained that both companies are based in the Northern Territory, and the agreement supports local strategic projects by providing 25 terajoules (TJs) per day to Arafura's critical minerals project. The agreement aligns with Tamboran’s strategy of prioritising Northern Territory gas use. “We’re a Northern Territory company. We’ve been focused on appraising the Beetaloo Basin now for all 12 years I’ve been in my job,” Riddle said, highlighting the company’s long-term commitment to the region. Riddle also pointed out the environmental edge of Beetaloo Basin gas, which has a CO2 content of about 3%, significantly lower than the 15–20% typically found in other Australian basins. He said supplying this low-carbon gas to the East Coast would help reduce emissions by displacing higher-carbon alternatives. Discussing supply capacity, Riddle compared the Beetaloo to the Marcellus Shale in the US, noting it could provide enough gas to support the East Coast for “hundreds of years”. Tamboran plans to bring 40 TJs per day online in the first half of next year under an existing 15-year agreement with the NT Government. The Arafura deal will add a further 25 TJs daily. Riddle said work is underway with pipeline partner APA to ensure infrastructure capacity. The company aims to finalise a binding gas sales agreement with Arafura soon. Data security: archTIS lands key licensing deal

Buru Energy secures strategic deal for LNG development

Buru Energy Ltd CEO Thomas Nador talked with Proactive about the company’s newly announced strategic development agreement with Clean Energy Fuels Australia Pty Ltd (CEFA) to co-develop the Rafael Gas Project. Nador explained that CEFA brings strong midstream and downstream capabilities, backed by I Squared Capital, which manages around $40 billion in assets. "They bring the right credentials, to look after the downstream and midstream elements of the project," he said. Buru, meanwhile, will focus on the upstream side of the Rafael development. The deal is described as a “watershed moment” for the company, as it provides a clear pathway toward developing a long-term gas and condensate business in northwest Western Australia—an area currently dependent on imported energy. Under the agreement, CEFA will fund, build, and operate a small-scale LNG facility on-site, with Buru paying a processing fee over the life of the project. This significantly reduces Buru’s capital exposure to only the upstream infrastructure—namely, two wells, one of which is already in place. A final investment decision is expected in late 2025 or early 2026, with first cash flows anticipated in the second half of 2027. According to Nador, the projected annual free cash flow from the Rafael development is expected to surpass the company’s current market capitalization.
