Biome Australia expands global footprint, targets strong growth in clinically proven Probiotics

While Australia remains the core market, generating over 90% of revenue, Biome is actively expanding into New Zealand, the UK, Ireland, and Canada. Norfolk noted that early results in Canada are ahead of schedule, with further updates expected on the ASX. Instead of launching new products, Biome is focused on expanding use cases for its existing 18-product portfolio, ensuring efficient cash flow management and lower product risk. Time Finance CEO on Q3 update: record lending & growth to resilient small businesses

Time Finance PLC (AIM:TIME) CEO Ed Rimmer takes Proactive's Stephen Gunnion through the company’s performance in the third quarter, highlighting a record gross lending book and improved arrears management. Rimmer explained that Time Finance provides funding solutions to small businesses, including invoice finance, asset finance, and secured loans, typically supporting businesses with turnover up to £10 million. He said, “We help businesses grow, but we also help businesses to survive as well.” The company’s lending book reached a record £210 million at the end of February, with arrears falling to 5% from 6% a year earlier. Rimmer noted this progress came despite challenging market conditions and was achieved without compromising credit quality. Margins have also increased, with profit margins now at 40%. This was attributed to tight cost control and improved efficiency, including leveraging technology and streamlining internal processes. Time Finance has not increased its headcount significantly post-COVID, which has helped support margin growth. Rimmer also addressed the broader economic environment, pointing to interest rate pressures, inflation, and increased insolvencies, but emphasised that small businesses remain resilient. Mt York Gold: Kairos Minerals targets major growth

Kairos Minerals Ltd managing director Dr Peter Turner talked with Proactive about the company's Mt York Gold Project in Western Australia’s Pilbara region. Turner outlined why the company is enthusiastic about the asset, highlighting the 1.4 million ounce gold resource, which he said is largely hosted in a single open pit with clean metallurgy. “There's enormous upside in terms of the resource,” he said, pointing to ongoing technical work and a key land access deal with Pilbara Minerals as drivers for growth. He noted that the mineralisation is continuous over three kilometres and spans three key prospects: Main Hill, Breccia Hill, and Gossan Hill. Drilling along this corridor has consistently intersected gold, with further upside potential extending 1.5 kilometres onto neighbouring ground recently secured from Pilbara Minerals. Kairos is well funded, with A$12.4 million in the bank and a further A$10 million expected from its deal with Pilbara Minerals. These funds will support an extensive 20,000–30,000 metre drill program, targeting both resource growth and conversion of inferred resources to indicated. Turner said a priority focus is the Main Hill extension, with plans to conduct detailed diamond drilling and incorporate any new results into a future resource update. He also said that the company is entering a pivotal period: “We feel that 2025 is probably our kairos moment.” The year ahead will include new drill results, feasibility progress, and a resource update. OKYO Pharma achieves key stability milestone for Urcosimod in clinical development

OKYO Pharma CEO Gary Jacob joined Steve Darling from Proactive to share a significant advancement in the company’s ongoing drug development efforts. The company has successfully demonstrated that urcosimod—formerly known as OK-101—remains stable for more than two and a half years in single-use ampoules, which are used for patient administration. This milestone is a crucial step forward in ensuring the long-term viability of the drug as it progresses through clinical trials. Urcosimod is currently being evaluated in a Phase 2b clinical trial, which is a randomized, placebo-controlled, double-masked study involving 48 patients. The trial is focused on assessing the drug’s effectiveness in treating neurotrophic keratopathy (NCP), a serious and progressive degenerative eye disease. Jacob emphasized that achieving success in clinical development extends beyond obtaining positive clinical trial data. A crucial aspect of regulatory approval includes meeting the rigorous Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (CMC) requirements set by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). By demonstrating long-term stability, OKYO Pharma has strengthened its regulatory submission package, addressing an essential factor in the drug’s future approval and commercialization. The company recently completed Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) stability assay testing of single-use ampoules containing urcosimod in an ophthalmic solution. The results were highly promising—ampoules stored under refrigerated conditions maintained stability for over two and a half years, while initial three-month data from samples stored at room temperature showed potency levels at or above 100%.
