Lavras Gold expands drilling at LDS Project in Brazil, highlights Almeria discovery

Lavras Gold Corp. President & CEO Michael Durose talked with Proactive's Angela Harmantas from the PDAC conference on Toronto about the company’s latest developments at the Lavras do Sul (LDS) Project in Brazil. The company, a gold exploration firm, currently holds around 1 million ounces across two of 24 exploration targets. Durose outlined the key 2024 milestones, including 17,000 meters of drilling across key areas such as Butiá, Fazenda do Posto, and Caneleira. A major highlight was the Almeria discovery, where drilling intersected 56 meters at 1 gram per ton of gold from surface. Looking ahead, Lavras Gold is focused on infill drilling at Butiá to define a potential mineable resource and step-out drilling at Fazenda do Posto to determine the mineralization limits. The company is also conducting metallurgical test work at Butiá, which will later extend to Fazenda do Posto. Wedgemount Resources updates field activities at Huggy Assets, reactivates five wells

Wedgemount Resources CEO Mark Vanry joined Steve Darling from Proactive to provide an update to Proactive on the company's field activities at its recently acquired Huggy Assets. After weather-related delays, Wedgemount has full operations going, including pumping, surface facility optimization, maintenance, chemical treatments, and well workovers. The company's primary focus remains on the Echo and Novice operational areas, where five additional wells have been brought back online. These wells had been inactive for a significant period before Wedgemount's acquisition. Historical initial production (IP) rates for these wells ranged from 15 to 65 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd). Vanry noted that previous successful chemical stimulations on Wedgemount’s Willowbend leases resulted in improved well performance. The company expects similar or better results from workovers and chemical treatments at Huggy, potentially exceeding the original IP rates. Major investment: AuKing’s $5M earn-in deal

AuKing Mining Ltd managing director Paul Williams joins Proactive’s Jonathan Jackson to discuss the company’s right to earn up to a 50% stake in Orion Resources Pty Ltd, which is acquiring the Cloncurry Gold Project in northwest Queensland. The agreement extends a prior deal allowing AuKing to earn a 15% stake through $1.5 million in project-related expenditure. Under the new terms, AuKing must invest $5 million in project development by June 30, 2027. Orion is finalising the acquisition of the Cloncurry Gold Project, the Lorena processing plant, and the Mt Freda/Golden Mile deposits. The company is also considering processing material from the Tick Hill mine and tailings. AuKing’s investment will support exploration, drilling, and resource estimation work, particularly at Mt Freda/Golden Mile, as well as refurbishment of the Lorena plant. Upon completing the $5 million earn-in, AuKing and Orion will form an incorporated joint venture, with AuKing holding a 50% share. If AuKing does not meet the expenditure requirement, its interest will lapse. TNR Gold chair welcomes progress at McEwen Copper's Los Azules copper project in Argentina
