OT: nickeltong,

Amazing. Yes, "a" founding father coined the phrase "Separation of Church and State". It's not in the Constitution. It's in a letter to the Danbury Baptist Association in the State of Connecticut. The context, which is what the Supreme Justices don't want to you to know and/or read, make it clear that Jefferson was addressing the issue of one particular denomination (which is why the Baptist were the ones writing him the letter) of Christianity as being the Nations establish religion. Jefferson was telling them that he would "contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature would 'make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof,' thus building a wall of separation between Church and State".

Now, if you do some studying (which you probably will choose not to do. After all, ignorance is bliss) you will find that when they used the word religion, they never meant "any" religion, as we do today (such as Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism or any other one you can think of). You see the Founding Fathers every intention was for this nation to be a Christian nation, but wanted all men to have the freedom to practice any form of it. I mean, why do you think you find references to God on such things as our money? I mean come on. If today’s definition of Separation of Church and State was what the founding fathers believed, then they would have been the greatest breakers of the law. They put references to God everywhere. If putting it on our money for Pete's sake isn't in direct conflict, I don’t know what is. Bet you didn't know that the Ten Commandments is posted to this day, in the very court room where the US Supreme Count convenes. How do you think they got there? The Founding Fathers put them there.

You obvisouly didn't (nor want to) read the link I gave you. Some very good history that deals with this issue. Well, I don't really blame you. I mean, I wouldn't either if A) I knew what was there B) If I wanted to continue the deception concerning Separation of Church and State that exist today.
