I'll try to make this as brief as possible, but please read all the way through. Something for everybody.
New and Old Members
If you are currently logged into the site or have an account as of yesterday (September 3rd), you are a lifetime member. You get the premium version of Investors Hub at no charge, automatically. No need to signup for anything. Further, you get the option to allow 2 people in the door at no charge to have the same privileges as you, with all the advanced options. I'll cover this below.
We are now on the subscription model.
Site Changes
Site subscriptions - now a fee of $50 to join the site (more thoughts on two versions below) Chairman Concept - for public stock boards, dropped many of the reasons for removal to prevent abuse - for stock clubs, stays the same. TOS Feature - everybody that is a member can submit TOS reports directly to me, via the link at the bottom of each post Ad-Free - site is completely ad-free to premium members Updated the About Us page Updated the Board View - Just lists it as "Started By:" for now. Directors aren't shown, but still have abilities as usual. This is to decrease the amount of flack you guys were taking for no reason. Cleaned up code on other pages Updated FAQ, Updated TOU Added feature where it resets everybody's iBox when there is a change
Inviting
Everybody that is on the site can invite 2 people. Simply do this by telling your friend to register his alias and list you as the referrer. After that, you (the current member) send me a private message of the alias your friend has signed up for, and I'll activate the account. Restrictions: I will accept NO free e-mail accounts for this free signup. No exceptions. Also, I would like all of your friends to get in the door by September 21st, 2001.
Thoughts on creating two communities within one site - free and premium
As some of you who follow this board know, I've been racking my brain trying to figure out a way to cater to those that typically use Raging Bull and are used to posting on the public stock boards for free. The following post may just be the answer: http://www.investorshub.com/boards/read_msg.asp?message_id=175077 and http://www.investorshub.com/boards/read_msg.asp?message_id=175085 << I am willing to discuss this as a viable option. Basically, a site within a site. Two separate communities, essentially, with different tastes, but that can co-exist and learn from each other. Has it's pros and cons and limitations for those using it. Let me know your thoughts. I think it's a good idea that would work pretty well..and allow everybody a voice who wishes to discuss stocks.
Contributions by Current members
It was suggested by several members that I provide a way for current, grandfathered members to contribute to the site. I have provided the following page for those interested, with a few thoughts of mine: http://www.investorshub.com/boards/donate.asp
Short and to the point, for once!
Looking forward to building on the new site and interacting with everybody here...
