Chariot CFO on $175M financing and 75MW solar project

Chariot Ltd (AIM:CHAR, OTC:OIGLF) chief financial officer Julian Maurice-Williams takes Proactive's Stephen Gunnion through two major announcements from the company's renewable division. The first announcement covers the financing closure of Etana Energy, Chariot’s electricity trading joint venture in South Africa. The financing totals $175 million, with backing from institutions like Norfund and Standard Bank, Africa's biggest bank. Maurice-Williams explained, “Etana is fully funded, and this strengthens its balance sheet, making it bankable and creditworthy.” The second update is a power purchase agreement for a 75-megawatt solar project in South Africa, with electricity to be traded through Etana. This project, set for construction in Q2, was enabled by the guarantee financing secured by Chariot. Maurice-Williams emphasised that these developments mark “two big steps forward for our renewable division towards first revenues.” Chariot expects further renewable projects to reach financial close soon, expanding both its trading and generation revenue streams. Altech Batteries Secures Key German Licensing Approval

Metro Mining boosts Bauxite output & cuts costs

Metro Mining Ltd CEO Simon Wensley talked with Proactive about the company’s expansion efforts and market outlook. Over the past two years, Metro Mining has invested $36 million to increase production capacity from 3.5–4 million tonnes to 7 million tonnes. The expansion includes key infrastructure upgrades, such as maintenance on the barge loader and the addition of a wobbler screening circuit to enhance wet weather operations. With record bauxite trade levels in recent years and growing aluminum production in China, India, and the Middle East, Metro Mining is targeting 6.5–7 million tonnes in shipments for 2025. Oriole Resources targets new resource estimate as it wraps up Phase 5 drilling at Bibemi

Oriole Resources PLC (AIM:ORR) CEO Martin Rosser talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the latest results from the final seven holes of the Phase 5 drilling programme at the Bibemi Gold Project in Cameroon. Rosser highlighted that all drill holes were in the Bakassi Zone 1 mineral resource estimate (MRE) area, with multiple gold intersections identified. Notably, six of the seven holes were on new drilling fence lines, reducing spacing to 50m. He explained that this additional data strengthens confidence in the JORC resource calculation and suggests potential for MRE expansion. “We’re expecting scope for an increase in the MRE and also an enhancement to the JORC categorisation,” he stated. Oriole Resources is now integrating geological and structural data into a revised MRE, expected in Q2. The company also continues metallurgical testing and has submitted an environmental and social impact assessment to the ministry.
