NIA's President has been receiving these questions repeatedly over the last 24 hours:

1) Why did President Biden extend an invitation to Celtic plc (LSE: CCP) or CLTFF to visit the White House in celebration of Celtic FC's championship victory, only to later decline to meet with them upon their arrival?

2) What was the rationale behind President Biden inviting Celtic plc (LSE: CCP) or CLTFF to the White House, considering they are champions of the Scottish Premiership, which is not an American sports league?

3) Was there a misunderstanding on President Biden's part, confusing them with the Boston Celtics?

NIA's President spoke with a representative of Celtic who visited the White House yesterday. Due to recent adjustments in President Biden's schedule for undisclosed reasons, he was absent from the White House during Celtic's planned visit. It's noted that Biden was not in the vicinity of Washington, DC at that time.

The fact remains that President Biden is aware of the distinction between Celtic FC and the Boston Celtics, recognizing they are separate entities in different sports and countries.

A close associate of NIA's President, who visited the White House on the same occasion, disclosed that members of Biden's Secret Service security detail are avid fans of Celtic FC. They affectionately refer to Biden as "Celtic" due to their shared passion for football and admiration for the Scottish Premiership champions. Upon learning that Celtic FC, the reigning Scottish champions, would be in town to play against DC United on Saturday evening, July 20th at 7:30pm, President Biden decided to extend an invitation to the team. This gesture was to express gratitude and acknowledge the team that shares a special connection with President Biden, as his Secret Service code name 'Celtic' was chosen due to the Secret Service members' admiration for Celtic FC.

Although it is unprecedented for a foreign club to be invited to the White House, this gesture was a unique and meaningful exception. Despite the missed opportunity to meet with President Biden, Celtic FC did not appear visibly disappointed.
