I did fine in HS math. Took a year off, then went to Univ. At the time, they had this approach called "New Math." It was introduced one year behind me. When I took first year Calculus, some stuff was new - wasn't exposed to in HS. So, I said F--- it dropped it. Did do intro statistics and accounting courses, but no further math.
In my real job, I teach high school upgrading at a college (English, math, computers, a bit of science.) I am well versed in algegra up to grade 12 but 12 is a bit rusty. In my part of the country kids only need grade 11 to graduate.
Not referring to any specific posts on your part - just overall. As a newbie on the board in Dec it has taken a while to figure out who is worthwhile "listening" to.
