Roni...gold question.

I am no gold export but I wonder if economy is slowing,
and inflation is muted why invest in gold? Wouldn't you need demand for
gold to be there as a result of increasing demand(growing economy)
or inflation hedge?

Or do you see gold more as an early canary for inflation? That is the market is
anticipating inflation and hence the interest in gold?

Or as I said I am no gold expert so why your interest if you don't mind enlightening me?
