NLST The patent application below appears to very similar to NLST's '595 Patent. The '595 was deemed invalid by the PTAB in mid-2023 and was appealed to CAFC on 10/30/23.

But this patent application was filed about 2 months later in Jan 2024. NLST likely thought that CAFC might agree with the PTAB and relegate the '595 to the trash bin of history. The '595 is up against Samsung and Google in Delaware.

The uniqueness of the art described in the '595 was deemed so important that NLST, taking the arguments they learned in the PTAB review, and is seeking another, more perfected patent.

This art is important. It is a unique way of testing memory modules for errors where the controller and memory modules perform what is called a "handshaking" while undergoing initialization.

Like the 918/054 patents, the '595 (and new application) would read on all memory modules. If granted it could be another large source royalties for NLST.

Who knows, with Chevron Deference, maybe the '595 will survive.
