A little while ago, the Maldives became one of the 8, or so, countries who decided to block holders of Israeli passports from entering their country:

But, then, within a week or two, they realized / remembered / discovered that a couple million Muslim and Christian Arabs hold Israeli passports, too, so they rescinded the ban.

Because, I guess, it's just the Israeli Jews they don't want befouling their country.

And this is the crux of the problem. While you educated / overeducated sorts honestly believe you can separate anti-Zionism from anti-Semitism (I have no argument with that), the mistake you make is to ascribe the ability to understand that distinction to the general population. And that's where you're wrong. Most of the people in the world don't make that distinction, or can't, which is exactly why hate crimes against non-Israeli Jews has skyrocketed since this war began.

I mean, Trump was elected, right? You give people too much credit.
