Yesterday, the MAGA governor of Louisiana, Jeff Landry, signed a bill into law that requires the Ten Commandments to be prominently displayed in every public school classroom in the state, from kindergarten to college.

The law is a blatant violation of the United States Constitution and the founding principle of separation of church and state.

That’s intentional. Just a few days earlier — at a Republican Party fundraising event in another state — Landry said “I can’t wait to be sued.”

Reactionary forces in this country have succeeded in shifting the bounds of discourse and debate to the point where they believe they can get away with this.
