She is right. My a/c is set to 70, winter and summer. Except that in winter, it's off during the night.

But rather than live in Alaska, I think the solution would be to live in the Southern Hemisphere during summer in the Northern Hemisphere.

Not that there's anything wrong with a beach vacation occasionally. Just not all the time.
