I took a trip to the Oracle in Delphi, and posed that term to her.......Here is her response:

"Anamnesis" is a term derived from Greek, meaning "recollection" or "remembrance." In different contexts, it has specific meanings:

Medical Context: In medicine, anamnesis refers to the patient's medical history. It includes information about past illnesses, surgeries, allergies, medications, and family medical history. Anamnesis is crucial for doctors to diagnose and treat patients effectively.

Philosophical and Psychological Context: In philosophy, particularly in the works of Plato, anamnesis is the idea that humans possess innate knowledge and that learning is the process of rediscovering that knowledge. It implies that the soul is immortal and has knowledge from past lives.

Religious Context: In Christian liturgy, anamnesis refers to the part of the Eucharist where the passion, resurrection, and ascension of Christ are remembered. It is a vital aspect of the ritual, emphasizing the importance of remembrance in the faith.

General Usage: More broadly, anamnesis can simply mean the act of recalling or remembering past experiences or events.

Then she asked me: 'Would you like to explore any of these contexts in more detail?'

Being overwhelmed by her initial response, I turned tail and ran.........I could hear her laughing all the time.....in a sinister and foreboding manner.......I still have nightmares......
