'Trapped ion' tech (as it is right now) is not going to get us Quantum Supremacy, and perhaps not even Quantum advantage. 'Trapped ion' tech is only scaling 36 qubits, as compared to 'neutral atom' tech scaling at 6100 qubits (48 logical qubits). We are losing this race right now to 'neutral atom' tech. All the rah rah rah hype is misleading. Yes, IonQ has acquired some contracts here and there, but it is not to level worth shouting about. SP now under $8 PS.....and likely going below the all-time low within next couple of weeks. Nothing on the horizon to cause upswing momentum....
Some on this board have pumped out a lot savvy, well-written notes, but when you did a little deeper, 'game over' comments are sadly misleading....
