No, I don’t think it’s a good strategy especially now that interest rates are not so low. I would much rather see them stop the buybacks and save the cash.
As for her comments on the (lack of) risk of growing competition, it’s hard for me not be skeptical. If things are so rosy, why haven’t there been more deals in the past several years? If I remember correctly, their last truly large deal was with BMY in 2017!
