I'm watching MasterChef Junior. It's down to the last three kids now; next week will be the finale. They have to make a three course meal, and they have to flambé something. Or maybe they have to flambé something in each course.

Of the three competitors, one is 10, the other two 11. Would my mother have let me flambé anything at that age? Not on your life. She probably wouldn't have let me do it in HER kitchen even as an adult.
