When I first started trading I would go to 5 World Trade Center and watch the tape. I would call in my orders. Since downtown was my district, I had opportunities to be there quite often. I did a lot of business lunches in the are also. Such a different world. Only me, my research and the ticker tape.
I did have friends in EF Hutton, Shearson Lehman and a few others.
Of note was the EF Hutton bond floor where an outsider needed an armed escort to access that floor because of Bearer Bonds!
