This is the only article I can find that goes inline with what you seem to indicate. Sadly they are a bit biased as the fda has approved canabis derived products which in hand means the cannabis plant itself used to make this has a medical purpose. Note the article has some validity but it's definitely a bear perspective and not inline with all the states legalization going on (red and blue), so basically the stated are telling the fda to buzz off even if they wanted it some other way, which majority does not.
