CocaCola and McDonald's success derived from a fad. Something new. They also followed a specific packaging of their product. Psychology is a big part of getting your target audience to buy your product. If you can get them to try it once, they will keep coming back over and over again. Labeling is an important the psychological part in getting the customer to buy the product, just once.

I will not insult you but will not explain in technical terms to a layman why the redesign should be done. You know what you want out of life and wish you all success in your endeavors. IMO

Note: McDonald's and CocaCola have fallen in popularity lately because of their service quality has decreased. The packaging of their product hasn't changed but the service and quality has
