See, I think whoever is requiring you to be here has a vested interest in the company. Since you don't know why you have to be here, that makes the story more interesting. Years of your life on this job which is sad in and of itself.

Now the company has extremely strong financials, minimal debt, profitable with an absurdly low PE. It is a prime candidate to be bought out. Biggest products are all ahead and the revenues and earnings are already substantial compared to market cap.

So the only reasons you would be here are because there is a large short position that needs to be covered or someone is trying to prep for acquiring the company and needs the stock price cheap.

What's your best guess as to why you are required to be here?
