Tell your friend I had the same problem last week with the same broker but as the spread closed towards the end of the day it allowed me to sell.

Tell your friend to tell IB the two things I was going to say to them.

1) If the normal market size is 10,000 shares, why was he allowed to buy in the first place?

2) Tell him to also ask IB to remove the cap of the minimum market size as I was going to do but as I kept on trying the sale finally went through. I believe that IB CAN make the necessary adjustments to their systems to allow him to sell.
