Besides the loved pets, I've had to put down a cow that got paralyzed giving birth and a calf that was born so deformed that the mother walked away. It is not an easy thing. Since moving here 24 years ago, I've buried 5 cats and had one disappear, probably by eagle. The Brittany spaniel at our last house was one of the tougher ones.
Have to admit, I'm an emotional wussy boy when we lose a pet, but you still have to do what needs to be done.

Down to just one cat now, Bubba. He's young and will be around for a good while.
