Is releasing bad news a good strategy?

Tough question to answer. On the one hand releasing bad news will cause a stock to decline, sometimes significantly. On the other hand, not releasing bad news fosters questions about communication (or lack thereof) and wild conjectures about what is going on behind the scenes. Either of these can also result in share price depreciation.

So it seems to me whatever a company might do regarding bad news (cover up or go silent), it will result in price depreciation.

I think this is what is happening to MVNT currently. MVNT hasn't released any bad news, but the cover up or lack of communication is definitely weighing on MVNT share price.

Personally I think MVNT may not have had a very good Fiscal Year (financially) for 2024. Therefore, they don't want to report it until as late as possible. That is why I suggested several months ago that I didn't expect to hear any news from MVNT until they file their 2024 annual report. I still believe that MVNT will not report anything officially until the 2024 report is filed. That could happen as soon as August (like they did in 2021) or as late as November (like they did in 2023).

Nothing anyone can do about this situation if true. Venting is about all one can do and that isn't helpful either.
