Mystery flu 'similar to Covid' leaves dozens critically ill with doctors on high alert
An alert about the mystery virus circulated via international public health surveillance system ProMed as 60 people were reported with the sickness in Argentina

The alert, submitted anonymously "via an individual known to ProMed", stated: "In the past 30 days, there appears to have been an increase in severe atypical pneumonia requiring critical care in Buenos Aires. The affected individuals are mostly young people without major risk factors."

While no official statements have been made by Argentinian officials, it's reported that patients have needed mechanical ventilation to help them breathe.

Maybe another pandemic for the masks that supposedly werent developed. Oddly theres a respiratory bug going on around where i live at the same time as whatever this is in Buenos Aires. Then theres also been a growing concern about Bird Flu.

The World Health Organization voiced alarm Thursday at the growing spread of H5N1 bird flu to new species, including humans, who face an "extraordinarily high" mortality rate.

"This remains I think an enormous concern," the UN health agency's chief scientist Jeremy Farrar told reporters in Geneva.
