The Juno story has changed over the years......

At first Judd had them looking in the wrong place in order to steal the treasure from them. Judd hired other salvors, he simply owned the rights. It proved to be a dud, so they claimed he was hiding something from them. The AWOL affiliate even claimed the treasure was 5 miles from the ballast pile, but of course provided no provided no proof.

Now there's the teredo crust claim "in the vicinity" of the ballast pile.

So, the cannons and the treasure fell out of the ship "in the vicinity" of the ballast pile and the worms came along and took a massive dump on them.

Makes sense in a fairy tale.

Of course, some longs say the cannons were salvaged but have no documentation to back that claim.

SFRX spent resources in a multi-year legal battle going after the Juno wreck with no proof of treasure, and years before the tech was ever mentioned. The claim they wouldn't be wasting time going after a permit doesn't hold water, especially since they just renewed Melbourne.
