Chief Scientific Advisor- Dr: SHIN Dong-sik

Dr. Shin Dong-sik is the current scientific advisor and director of Magnum Fuel Cell. A mathematics graduate in engineering from Seoul National University, Chalmers Institute of Technology (Sweden) and Durham Institute of Technology (UK), Dr. Shin has been known as the father of the shipbuilding industry in Korea. From his active post as Chairman of KOMAC (Korea Maritime Consultants Co. Ltd) he has led his team of over 200 engineers to design and manufacture over more than 1400 vessels worldwide. He contributed to Korea’s Five Year Economic Development Plan and played a pivotal role in establishing and implementing plans for the development of the shipbuilding industry turning Korea into the world’s Nr.1 shipbuilding nation. Dr. Shin did not just stop at shipbuilding but spread his footprint in eco-friendly technologies and in particular the problem of carbon capture and hydrogen production. With the expansion of non fossil fuel vehicles, the production of hydrogen and its distribution becomes paramount in decreasing the carbon footprint. Dr. Shin’s tireless legacy is leading a global clean industry in the era of climate change.
