American Airlines is over 40 billion in debt, United Airlines over 34 billion in debt, Delta Airlines over 17 billion in debt, Southwest over 9 billion, Alaska Airlines over 2 billion. in order to continue operations and for them to avoid a potential bankruptcy filing; because of their Boeing manufacturer fleets; these carriers must continue to sell a massive amount of tickets per day, every day. United asking pilots to take immediate voluntarily time, months off without pay; may be an ominous warning sign regarding big Boeing carrier ticket sales. I don't see how these big carriers; who purchased massive Boeing fleets; that the flying public is now avoiding purchase tickets to fly on; according to press release after press release; can continue to survive. The Boeing aircraft fleets they purchased do not look to have any resale value. To continue paying on these massive debt loads; if they tried to sell some of their fleets; for some immediate cash; they have the problem of not having any buyers; so their Boeing fleets, their jets, have no resale value. With their debt loads etc. their continued survival very much longer looks bleak.
