Ask for: "a retroactive correction of your 1099." For some of the challenges that you mentioned, I have a similar situation but not an identical situation. I did not receive a 1099 from anyone on the LAHO buyback team. Also, I had other issues that had to be fixed. From the other shareholder posts, the 1099 needs to be generated by your brokerage firm or your accountant will have to do manual calculations. However, there is an alternative solution to your 1099 problem.

For the suggestions below, I am assuming that your LAHO buyback funds were wired to your TDA brokerage account and not your bank account. Also, I am assuming that your TDA account already migrated to Schwab.

The short version is that you need to contact TDA / Schwab and request that TDA / Schwab “retroactively correct your 1099 from the year 2022.”

When you call TDA / Schwab to explain your LAHO situation and request the "retroactive correction of your 1099," TDA / Schwab will most likely inform you that you need to supply 2 items: (1) a written letter of instruction for the request and (2) some sort of written documentation from Smith Eilers that describes and provides the details of the buyback proceeds wired to your TDA account. Smith Eilers is the law firm that is sending out the wire transfers for the buyback proceeds. Call Ms. Selvia at Smith Eilers. She can help solve the problem. Also, I did mention your situation in general when I last talked with Selvia. Selvia told me to tell you to contact her so she can assist with solving your problem. Once you obtain the written information from Selvia, submit the written information as well as any other requested information to TDA / Schwab via the online TDA / Schwab Message Center.

When TDA / Schwab starts the process to retroactively correct your 1099 from the year 2022, TDA / Schwab should be able to retrieve the historical purchase price and cost information from its database so the information is correctly reflected on your retroactively corrected 1099 form.

Todd. No, I have not received a 1099 nor have I been able to determine how much I paid for the shares that I held. At .002 that we received, I would only have held 47M shares.
I am not really active on the market anymore. At age 84, I find that I am so absent minded that I know remember anything from day to day.

Thanks for the information.

todd and/or others. Has anyone received a 1099 or other for the moneys paid on the surrender of the shares? I haven't nor have I filed my tax return for 2022.

Appreciate any feed back on this. I have looked on TDA for LAHO data on how much I paid for the 58M shares that I held but find nothing. I know that I received over 92K for my shares.
