apparently they have looked at the pros and cons and have decided that solar power is the better solution..you can try to make solar power sound as bad as possible, but the truth is as you said: " it must be acknowledged that all energy sources have environmental consequences"...

and clearly, it has been determined that solar is the best option...

solar on residential rooftops can help that household generate enough electrical energy to meet as much as 80% of their electricity needs...that relieves a whole lot of stress off the grid...and those panels are made to last 25 years...and those people with solar panels who own electric cars are not pulling anything off the grid to charge those vehicles...

whatever environmental impact is involved with making solar panels is NOTHING compared to the benefits...
